Our Story

Free Paws K9 Training opened in 2022 on the belief that every dog is unique. They each have their own unique traits and mannerisms, and therefore require their own unique and specialized obedience training. That’s where we come in! Whether it’s for basic house and leash manners or more complex behavioral issues, our trainers are focused on not only training your pet but teaching you how to effectively communicate with them. This method of training is full of fun techniques that will give you and your pet a happier life together.

We pair you with a certified trainer who is passionate about dogs and focuses on your specific needs. We train in a home setting to teach your dog all of the best house manners any pet owner desires. We work out in public to help your dog grow into a very confident, independent pup ready to take the on the world with a new set of eyes.

Christie

Co-Owner

Christie’s passion is transforming fearful and anxious pups into stable confident members of the family! This passion began 4 years ago while working on a local Search and Rescue team and seeing how different each dog on the team was. Seeing this dynamic allowed her to learn true dog behavior and body language which brought her passion for training to a brand-new level. Obedience training helped transform her personal dog "Ares" from a dog who was overly excitable with zero impulse control and no recall out in the wide-open space or around a ball to a super snuggle bug and constant companion for her. Christie has an extensive background in business and will graduate with her master's degree and has been a certified Search and Rescue team member in the past. She is a Certified AKC trainer who has extensive experience with Canine Good Citizen and puppy behavior.
